Sioux Falls, SD August 18, 2005 Sioux Falls is named for a series of small waterfalls in the Big Sioux River. Located just north of downtown, Falls Park is dedicated to giving tourists and residents intimate access to the falls by adding lights, bridges, and walkways to the area. Although the manmade aspects of the park greatly detract from the natural beauty of the falls, they do give easy access to view the falls from several angles.
